JADE Spring Meeting 2017

JADE, 2017

On their third day of the JADE Spring Conference, Junior Entrepreneurs started by attending workshops hold by Alumni, selected Junior Enterprises or JADE Academy trainers in Solvay University. They then had the opportunity to meet partners and sponsors in a networking session and to exchange their best practices with thematic tables.
There was then the Closing Ceremony where was awarded the prize of the Junior Entrepreneur of the Year, based on his involvement in the network and his knowledge of the international movement. This was also the opportunity for Richard Northcote, CSO at Covestro to deliver a keynote speech on the importance of collaboration in order to build a sustainable future and to shape tomorrow, together. Each member of JADE Executive Board then explained why they chose to apply for their position or presented one special part of their experience, pushing Junior Entrepreneurs to reflect on this opportunity to continue their engagement in the network. The final word was given by Joao Vitor Camargo, Brazilian Ambassador at JADE, who helped the participants to reflect on their appurtenance to the movement of Junior Enterprises and to realize that they were connected not only with the current Junior Entrepreneurs but also with the 50 years of Alumni that went through this experience. Each participant received a commemorative bracelet that he had to give to someone else, in order to symbolize this deep connection.
The day culminated with the Gala Dinner that took place in the Crowne Plaza. The winners of the Excellence Awards were announced throughout the evening:
• LSM Conseil for Most Socially responsible Project
• CCT for Most Innovative Project
• IESEG Conseil Paris for Most Promising JE
• ESCadrille for Most International JE
• LSM Conseil for Most Entrepreneurial JE
• Conquest for JE of the Year
As this was a special occasion, the 50th and 25th anniversaries of the JE concept and of JADE, we had the honor of hosting many alumni of JADE Executive board, and in particular Johan Moonen, cofondator of JADE who delivered a keynote speech, celebrating the past 25 years and the path accomplished.
