China Unlimited – The chinese tourism in Lisbon

Hovering over time: the chinese tourism in Lisbon (in portuguese, the original language, Pairando sobre o tempo: o turismo chinês em Lisboa) is like a discovery work.

I call it discovery because tourism originating in China is still very recent in Portugal (Putaoya) and in Lisbon (Lisiben) as well.

And, as it is a phenomenon with few years of existence, there is very few amount of scientific documentation about it and, indeed, some rather scattered numbers.

This research’s main aim is not only to gather these numbers but also, of course, to contribute to this documentation on the chinese tourism in Lisbon to ‘grow’ – both quantitatively and qualitatively.

Giving some kind of special attention to the testimonies of people who, professionally, have a privileged insight (both theoretical and practical) over tourism in the portuguese capital, this work aims to ‘expose’ their understanding of the chinese tourism in Lisbon.

A type (pardon me for using this word…) of tourism which, according to studies carried out in various parts of the world, is extending already, precisely, to various parts of the world.

Hovering over time: the chinese tourism in Lisbon demands, thus, to give some sort of clues in order to understand what approaches have been defined and privileged, in Lisbon, on the chinese tourist – and if, indeed, they were designed at all.

That’s the contribution of this self-published book.
