To my Chinese friend

By Oana, RO

China-Unlimited-Europe-insectionHello, my Chinese friend!I never met you but I hope that we will know each other soon.

Untill then please allow me to introduce myself. And because I do not like to speak about me, let’s imagine that we speak about a girl named RO and allow me to write you about her.

She was born in 1971 in a mountain town in Romania. (When you’ll meet her, she will be delighted to ask you about Karakorum Mountains.)

RO is an introvert and she has inherted her artistic skills from her father. Nevertheless, her sensibility and her perception of the imaginative world puts her closer to the influence from her mother’s side.

In her teens she mainly manifested literary abilities, while her visual expression came forth during her University studies.

She will be glad to ask you about your parents, grandparents, your values and everything that is realy important for you. (RO has read about your culture so many books but she would like to hear directly from you all these.)

Her artistic debut took place twenty two years ago and she began exhibiting constantly in her mountain town as well as in other Romanian towns.

RO decided to further her artistic training in a more formal way in 2012, when she was admitted in „George Enescu“ University of Arts in Iasi, Graphics section, where two years later she got her Masters Degree. This year she has also been admitted as an intern of „The Artists Union of Romania“.

In her works, she is focused on man’s meaning (in this world), abyss, as well as the onthologic zenith. Her artistic virtues consist of her ability to capture graphic language both in sections as well as in its whole. In her work she makes use of the metaphor and symbol.

RO will love to paint and write about your amaizing country!

Well, my dear Chinese friend, I think that I wrote you enough about RO. I hope that you like to meet her someday.

I wish you all the best.

Love,

Your Romanian friend
