The ECOFIN Council meets every month and brings together economic and financial ministers from all EU member countries. It is responsible for economic policy, taxation issues and the regulation of financial services.

The Foreign Affairs Council is made up of foreign ministers from all EU member countries. It is responsible for the EU's external action, which includes foreign policy, defence and security, trade, development cooperation and humanitarian aid.
