Gun deaths are a sad reality all over the world. Everywhere I look, I can find stories of innocent people whose lives have been cut short due to guns. The statistics are staggering; the number of gun deaths in the United States alone is estimated to be over 35,000 per year. The tragedy is even greater when we look at the global scale. Every person who dies due to guns leaves behind a family who has to grapple with the pain and loss. I often think of the faces behind these statistics, of the people whose lives were taken away too soon.
