COP21 President Laurent Fabius held a press conference with UNFCCC Executive Secretary Christina Figueres on Wednesday 2nd December.
Laurent Fabius called the negotiators of the 195 countries to “speed up” their work. He said: “My message is very clear: there is still a lot of work to do, so we must accelerate the process”.

“Compromise language must be agreed as soon as possible, the Heads of State and government gave us a clear mandate on Monday, we need to succeed” added Laurent  Fabius. He insisted: “success is a must” and reminded everyone he was to be presented with a “draft agreement” at noon on Saturday.

“I expect this draft to be as completed as possible. The objective is for many options to have been cleared by the end of this week” before the ministers from the different countries take over the negotiations on Monday.

For her part, UNFCCC Executive Secretary Christina Figueres, made it clear “no country, small or large, will be left behind”.
