During the latest Mobile World Congress 2014 in Barcelona, the European Sting as media partner of the event took another very interesting interview from a top member of Ercom’s management team, the VP Marketing, Guy Lecurieux Lafayette. Ercom is a French telecom solution provider specializing in protocol convergence/inter-operability of telecommunication networks. The interview was around the main business activities of Ercom today and how these activities meet the needs of a very dynamic market such as telecommunications.

History

Ercom was founded back in 1986 and since then has been dedicated in the development of high-end telecommunication technologies and solutions. Until 2007, Ercom was a service provider company. During this period Ercom launched a variety of products such as the Mobipass solution for testing and measuring the 2G Networks and the Secphone solution, which was the predecessor of CryptoSmart, its top product for secure communications.

The year 2007 was a year that transformed Ercom from a service provider company to a product-oriented one. This change in the business plan, has allowed Ercom to manufacture and sell products. According to Ercom, “Cryptosmart-Mobile Suite secures mobile phones for all communications (voice, data, mail, SMS) and on all networks (GPRS, Edge, 3G, LTE, HSDPA, Wi-Fi®, Satellite, etc)”. It is not very expensive and can be used on the latest Android devices. In addition the “Cryptosmart-PC Suite secures all types of communication (voice, data, video, mail) on any type of network (GPRS, Edge, 3G, LTE, HSDPA, Wi-Fi®, Satellite, xDSL, etc.)”.
