On the euro but out of it?

The European Central Bank presents the security feature of the new € 5 banknote; the head of the mythical Europa girl abducted by Zeus according to the Greek mythology.

The fact that Greece reached the exit of Eurozone more than once during the past months and a Grexit (exit of Greece from Eurozone) is still not excluded did not stop the European Central Bank from keeping the country on the euro. This time however for decorative reasons. The ECB used the most ancient depiction of the girl-Europa in an ancient Greek vase kept in the Museum of Louvre in Paris, as an ornament of the new euro note series.According to the Greek myth, and there are many, the girl Europa was abducted and mated by the father of gods and men Zeus and brought to Europe, naming after her the continent. As the governor of ECB Mario Draghi explained this week the new series of euro banknotes will replace the ones in use starting from the 5 euro note on which the main theme will be the portrait of Europa. The new 5 euro note will be presented in January. Isn’t it preposterous to keep Greece on the euro but probably out of it?
