Chronic stress among young adults is a global concern affecting both physical and mental health. Academic, social, and economic pressures can lead to insomnia, low energy, anxiety, and depression. This article combines medical, psychological, and philosophical perspectives to explore the impacts of stress and propose strategies for coping.
Physical Effects of Stress
Chronic stress has significant effects on the body, including high blood pressure, weakened immune system, chronic inflammation, and heart problems. The use of cigarettes and psychiatric medication under severe life pressures further exacerbates these issues.
When cigarettes and pills are used, A youth with no hope or attachment.
These symptoms not only reduce quality of life but can also cause long-term and sometimes permanent effects. Studies have shown that chronic stress elevates cortisol levels, increasing risks of heart disease, diabetes, and even cancer.
Psychological and Social Effects
Long-term stress can lead to anxiety, depression, lack of motivation, and sleep disorders. Young people under severe pressure may experience reduced focus and academic or work performance. Socially, chronic stress can damage relationships with family and friends, leading to isolation and loneliness.
