The continuation of Libya’s instability means the tragic circumstances in the Mediterranean are still recurrent and the effects are being felt across Central and Western Europe all the way to the France-UK Border of Calais and Scandinavia.

With the occurrence of the current crisis the presentation given on Day One by Rear Admiral Nicola Carlone, Head of Operations Department, Italian Coast Guard Headquarters, entitled “The Italian Coast Guard: Search and Rescue Operations in the Mediterranean” will pose as one of the events’ highlights due to its highly relevant contents.
